Compensation Analyst (Human Resources)

Job Description

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Compensation Analyst to support our HR and Total Rewards team in evaluating, administering, and maintaining compensation programs. The ideal candidate will have strong quantitative skills, expert-level proficiency in Excel, and experience working with compensation structures in a fast-paced business environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct compensation analyses, including market pricing, internal equity reviews, and pay structure assessments.
  • Develop, maintain, and audit compensation tools, reports, and models using advanced Excel functions (e.g., Power Query, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, PivotTables, macros).
  • Support the design and administration of salary structures, job families, and pay ranges.
  • Partner with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and Finance to provide compensation guidance and data insights.
  • Assist with annual compensation cycles, including merit planning, bonus calculations, and pay adjustments.
  • Evaluate job descriptions and perform job leveling and benchmarking using compensation survey data.
  • Maintain compensation-related records with a high degree of confidentiality and adherence to company policies.
  • Prepare presentations and visualizations to communicate findings and recommendations to leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in compensation, data analysis, or HR analytics.
  • Advanced Excel skills required (demonstrable experience with complex formulas, PivotTables, data modeling, and/or macros).
  • Experience with HRIS systems (Workday, SAP, Oracle, UKG, or similar) preferred.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex data in clear, concise ways for non-technical audiences.
